MicroComputer System
Technology Lab
Welcome,
An introduction to microcomputer architecture and the basic concepts used in the
Personal Computer (PC). Key features of the PC are explored by writing programs
in a high-level language (such as C) to access them. Assembly language
programs are utilized to gain insight into machine-level operations. Laboratory
exercises support the lecture and are carried out in the context of currently
available operating systems.coverage of the network security field, with hands-on
skills in the areas of cryptography, secure network applications, and system
security. The course builds upon the skills learnt in GCO 231 to enhance the
students ability to design and implement security solutions that will reduce the
risk of vulnerability.
